Hampshire Hot Spot – Saturday 14 June 2025

Join me, Andy, as I lead a walk along the stunning Hampshire coastline with the Isle of Wight barely out of sight throughout your walk.

We’ll start just off Kings Saltern Road in Lymington. There is plenty of free on-road parking around here. We’ll take the non-coast path route to the Gun Inn in Keyhaven where we’ll stop for refreshments. You’ll need to bring your own or buy there.

Then we’ll brace the breeze and hug the coastline for our return. When I trialled this walk at the end of March, it was a birdwatcher’s dream. I saw avocet, plenty of godwits, tufted duck, shelduck, a couple of Dartford warblers, greenshank, redshank and I’m pretty sure there was some kind of diver. If you’re not a birdwatcher, you’ll still appreciate the rugged beauty of the area.

There is a long walk and a short walk option.
