Rosalyn is a Speech and Language Therapist at Growing Hope High Wycombe with experience of working with primary and secondary aged children with a variety of difficulties and needs. She has training and experience of using a range of therapeutic approaches and is particularly keen to make sessions fun and engaging. Rosalyn is passionate about providing support for children and their families and helping them to reach their communication goals.

Music Therapist

Louise joined Growing Hope High Wycombe in October 2022. She has worked for over 25 years as a Music Therapist in specialist nurseries, schools and post 16 provisions for children and young people with Speech, Language and Communication Needs, Autism, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. She has SENCO experience and also works within the Family Support Team offering emotional and practical support to parents and siblings. Her additional training includes Trauma-Focussed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Alley Akoh

Art Therapist

Alley Akoh is a freelance Art Therapist with Growing Hope High Wycombe. She has experience working with children in schools, bereavement work and offering Art Therapy to children who have additional needs. She has a Masters in Art Psychotherapy from Goldsmiths University and is passionate about offering a safe place for children and families to express themselves. She believes that art making and art materials can help children to process their feelings and support family communication, fostering learning and emotional growth.

Rachel Shin

Occupational Therapist

Rachel is an HCPC / COT registered Occupational Therapist with over 7 years of experience working within Health and Social Care sectors. Rachel has knowledge of play based therapy and a background of working with children in the early years and within school-based settings. She has a passion to see children with additional needs thrive. Rachel uses meaningful occupation to support the child and their family to reach their goals and develop their motor, process and social skills to participate fully in their daily lives.

Nicola Rayner

Child Behaviour Specialist

Nicola is the co-founder of The Child Behaviour Network which works with families and organisations to help them better understand and support children with additional needs. Nicola’s formal training is as a Norland Nanny, she has a first class degree in Early Years Development and Learning, and a Norland Diploma. Nicola has worked with children with a range of additional needs for over 12 years in a variety of settings, and specialises in behavioural needs. She is driven by a desire to see all children thrive and reach their full potential.

Freelance Fundraiser

Kirsty is Growing Hope High Wycombe’s freelance fundraiser. She has fifteen years experience working in the charity sector, including for a national fostering and adoption charity, and as part of the senior leadership team for a charity coming alongside isolated families. She is committed to seeing children and young people thrive, and has seen the difference that a supportive community can make in the lives of families.

Would you like to volunteer with us? 

We rely on the support of our volunteers. We are looking for anyone who is willing to help us with the behind-the-scenes work of engaging supporters and raising funds for the charity. We are happy to train and equip you so no prior experience is necessary. If you can spare 1-3 hours a month then please get in touch.
