Growing Hope South East London will be a charity offering free therapy for children and young people (0-18) with additional needs. We also provide support for parents, carers and siblings through our groups and courses. Our clinics will serve the Greenwich, Lewisham and Southwark area.

Charity Oversight

Growing Hope Brockley (soon to be Growing Hope South East London) is a registered charity: number 1188708. Growing Hope’s therapists are all members of a professional board and receive regular clinical supervision. We take the safety and wellbeing of all children really seriously – you can read our latest safeguarding policy here. Each year we complete an annual report which gives details of the impact that we have had in the lives of children and young people with additional needs.

Growing Hope South East London Trustees

Nikki Thornton – Nikki is a qualified Music Therapist who works integratively and holistically. She has experience working in schools with children with additional needs and specialises in the field of mental health, recovery and addiction and trauma. She is currently the service manager of a specialist intensive treatment centre for Eating Disorders. Nikki is passionate about providing a safe and supportive space for people to express themselves through sound and play and is utterly convinced of the power of music to communicate what words often fail to. She also works to support parents, carers and siblings with their respective processes and journeys. Nikki is particularly passionate about working within, and alongside teams to explore and understand systemic dynamics and parallel processes, in order to prioritise healthy and flourishing work cultures. She is in the process of training to be a clinical supervisor.

Eleanor Orr – Eleanor works as an accountant for a charity based in London Bridge and is keen to use her skills and experience in the service of Growing Hope, realising that she has much to learn as well as to offer. She has lived near Brockley for over 40 years and has raised three daughters in the area. She is keen to participate in the work that Growing Hope Brockley is doing in support of children and their families.

Kay Cutting – Kay spent 40 years as a teacher working in a variety of Special Schools. She has a particular focus on children with PMLD (Profound & Multiple Leaning Difficulties). She also has a Masters in Special Education and is a qualified Teacher of the Deaf. Kay loves being part of the Special Needs community and particularly enjoys working with children and their families. She is looking forward to supporting the work of Growing Hope in Brockley.

Aliesha Girvan – Aleisha is a mother of a child with additional needs, and her family has directly benefited from the charity’s work which motivates my commitment to the organisation. Aleisha is a qualified accountant and alongside her professional experience, she has supported and empowered families with SEND children to navigate challenges with confidence. She looks forward to contributing her skills and lived experience to help Growing Hope Brockley continue its vital work.

Free Therapy in South East London

We accept referrals for children and young people with diagnosed or undiagnosed additional needs who live in Lewisham and Southwark. Parents, carers or professionals can make a referral on a child’s behalf. Growing Hope is open to all regardless of belief.
