The example of Fingerprint Financial Planning
Fingerprint Financial Planning, based in Chatham, Kent, are very keen to support charities as part of their social impact. Each year they choose a different charity to commit to. Sometimes this might be a charity with a local focus, and at other times a national charity.
Staff members nominate different charities. A small team reduce these nominations to a short-list of three, which are then voted on by all staff members, with the winner being the Charity of the Year. In 2025, Growing Hope Maidstone was selected through this method.
This partnership means that Fingerprint will encourage their staff to participat
e in sponsored runs and walks for their chosen charity, and they will put on one fundraising event during the year. They will also send staff to represent Fingerprint at Growing Hope Maidstone’s own fundraising dinner.
Fingerprint Financial Planning involve their clients in the fundraising too, in a clever win-win marketing move. They reward clients who successfully refer a friend to their business with either a shopping voucher for a certain amount or double that amount for Fingerprint to donate to Growing Hope.
